What you say???????

Bible has a few scriptures on how we should speak.  I chose to use my life experience with in this weekly nugget.  Words can heal, kill, restore, eliminate, correct, speak life, encourage, break down, & educate just to say a few.  Words can be pungent.  My former Pastor the Late Bishop Addie B. Mclinton preached a message at convocation one year about the “Pink Tornado.”  She preached that message about watching what you say.  It is your choice to use your words wisely.  Everything that comes to your mind is not always best to speak if you want to work things out!  Watch your speech!  These are some signs of maturity.  We all learn as we grow!  Grow to speak life and love!  I’m growing with you.  I’m not exempt from the growth of controlling my tongue, Pastor and all.  My prayer this week is lord let me control my tongue!  This week’s Maturity Nugget for 2013!
Still celebrating 2013 the Year of Maturity!

What’s Love Got to do with it?

Tina Turner recorded “A fool in love” in the 1960’s when she was young and full of life, liberty and love.  However, after many heart break and much disappointments, she released a new song in September 1984 titled “What’s love got to do with it.”  Most of us in life will have this same posture after going through a lot of heart breaks and disappointment’s.
The bible gives us many scriptures that offer’s us hope in love.  After experiencing what Love is not, turn to 1 Corinthians 13 and see what love is.  Then turn to John 3:16 and see more love.
“4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  8 Love never fails.”
“16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
I believe that these 2 scriptures gives us hope to what love should be and also reminds us that we are loved.  God loves you so much that He gave His son to die for you.  That’s LOVE.  Love never fails.
As we venture into what the world calls love day Feb 14, 2013, let’s offer love to all mankind every day.  A simple act of love and kindness goes a mighty Long Long way.  And if your relationship is rocky then do a little exercise with these scriptures to remind each other what love means to the both of you.  Have faith and hang in there.  Let love be your guide.
Love you much from the desk of,

With my WHOLE Heart!
Paul wrote in the book of Ephesians in the 70s of the first century CE, “Not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the Heart.”  Atlantic Starr produced a song in 1986, “If your heart isn’t in it.”
Webster defines from the heart as  - The repository of one's deepest and sincerest feelings and beliefs.
The shorter of this long sermon is, serve the lord with your whole heart!  Put your whole heart into doing His will.  Anything else will be a disservice.
